BUSTA RHYMES – 100 pounds

Busta Rhymes released his album Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God in October 2020, nine years after his last. It took a long time before he finally introduced this creation because of two losses that gravely affected him and his health. He admitted that he let go of himself after delving too much into these tragedies. After doctors found polyps on his throat, the rapper knew he should make changes. A lifestyle overhaul resulted in a dramatic weight loss of 100 pounds in 2020. Busta Rhymes didn’t just get back in music, but he also got back in shape.

JORGE NAVA – 128 pounds

In 2020, divorce petition papers of 90 Day Fiancé stars Jorge Nava, and wife Anfisa Arkhipchenko showed he only weighed 185 pounds. He was serving jail time (for possession of marijuana,) but surprised his fans when he shared snaps of his leaner self. Apparently, he has already dropped 128 pounds since entering the facility in 2018. As for the split, Nava felt that Arkhipchenko was just jealous of his newfound attention because of his slimmer figure. He claimed that she stopped taking his calls after he debuted his new fit body on social media. Months prior, she shared a selfie with her new boyfriend on Instagram.

KATIE MALONEY-SCHWARTZ – 20 pounds

Ahead of the virtual reunion of Vanderpump Rules stars in 2020, Katie Maloney-Schwartz shared a selfie that showed her in sparkling attire. While the outfit was unmissable, fans were more curious about what she did to have a slimmer figure. Apparently, the 34-year-old had been tweaking her eating habits with the help of a nutritionist, which resulted in a 20-pound drop in her weight in just a span of a few weeks. Maloney-Schwartz admitted that she thought she was suffering from a thyroid issue and got herself checked, only to find out that she had a glucose level problem.

ART SMITH – 70 pounds

For so long, Oprah’s chef Art Smith wanted to trim his waistline but couldn’t. However, all it took was a visit from his friend Lucas Cancelier, a professional rugby player, to kick start his journey in 2020. The food expert first shared his weight woes with his pal, who then worked with him to achieve his goals. Smith credited Cancelier as a mentor who changed his life for the better. These days, the cook seems committed to keep the weight off and keep going with his routines that he often shares on Instagram.

NIGELLA LAWSON – 26.5 POUNDS

In the culinary world where chefs such Gordon Ramsay, Jaime Oliver and Bobby Flay reign as kings there needs to be place for a queen of all chefs, and that’s where Nigella Lawson fits the bill perfectly. Before hitting it big in the public eye, Nigella was a food critic. She eventually ended up doing tons of cooking shows and writing her own cookbooks.  Her recipes are decadent and luxurious and speak of the food goddess she is. After all, she puts all her love into food and over the years she gained a lot of weight. Recently she came back into the public view lighter thana ever having lost 3 dress sizes and 26.5 pounds. She attributes this weight loss to portion control, healthier eating and yoga although she does indulge now and again – after all, this is Nigella Lawson we are speaking about!

MO’NIQUE – 80 pounds

When she starred in the 2009 movie Precious, Mo’Nique was at 300 pounds. However, in the years that followed, she decided to take control of her life and lose weight, resulting in an 80-pound drop. The dramatic transformation didn’t happen overnight, and it was, in fact, not a walk in the park. In her journey, Mo’Nique documented the steps she had taken to slim down, which the 53-year-old said was also because of her family. Her fans will get to see her in the 2021 movie The Reading as Emma Leeden.

TIFFANI AMBER THIESSEN – 45 POUNDS

In 2010, Tiffani Thiessen, star of Saved By The Bell and Beverly Hills, 90210, gave birth to a daughter. After she recovered, she set out to lose the baby fat. She enlisted the help of celebrity personal trainer Kathy Kaehler who also gave her some tips for a healthier diet with fewer calories. With exercise and proper eating, Tiffani’s weight loss – 45 whole pounds, came about without the need for liposuction.

Sam Smith – 14 pounds

Sam Smith is a famous singer and songwriter. He rose to fame with such hit singles as Latch and La La La. Sam made all of us witness a truly inspiring weight loss journey as he was able to drop 14 pounds in just two weeks. Sam admitted his weight loss success came after undertaking a strict diet and exercise regimen with a personal trainer. Some people even speculate Sam to have undergone a gastric sleeve surgery.

Jake Gyllenhaal – 20 pounds

When he signed up for the film Nightcrawler, it was obvious that Jake Gyllenhaal had to lose some weight. Not that he was too fat, but the role was such that he had to look lean and hungry, more like a scavenger. Committed to playing the part well, Jake almost starved himself and lost 20 lbs. We are not too sure if we approve of the borderline unhealthy low-calorie diet.

GUY SEBASTIAN – 25 POUNDS

Singer and Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian was not morbidly obese, just a little round around the waist and soft. Still, his body image was quite low so he made up his mind and went after a change. He started working with a personal trainer and started a popular diet called the Ketogenic Diet, which reduces carbohydrates and increases fat consumption while making sure the body burns fat more efficiently. He ended up ripped enough to warrant a photo shoot on the Australian Men’s Health magazine.

Rob Kardashian – 15 Pounds

Rob Kardashian disappeared from the spotlight for a while but he certainly had his reasons. The reality star had previously put on a lot of weight that he was trying to get rid of. We almost forgot all about him until he recently posted a photo of himself showing off his new slimmer figure and grabbed the attention of the media. Everyone has been talking about his incredible transformation and whether it involved liposuction or not. He didn’t reveal how much weight exactly he did lose but we must admit that he looks rather great!

Leann Rimes – UNKNOWN

American singer Leann Rimes released her first cover song Blue when she was 13. In fact, she became the youngest country musician since Tanya Tucker. She was on the rise in every aspect except her weight, as she had struggled with those extra pounds for quite some time. After hiring a personal trainer and deciding to get back into shape, the singer was able to shed that baby fat she was worried about. Her extreme workout regimen and a balanced diet did the job. Recently, she expressed how happy and healthy she feels with her body. We can’t be any happier for her.

Jason Alexander – 30 pounds

Jay Scott Greenspan may not sound so familiar to you, but it is the birth name of famous voice actor, director, and comedian Jason Alexander. The Seinfeld actor has been present on the screen for quite some time, so we have witnessed his weight loss journey. He was dedicated to lose those extra pounds and he succeeded. Thanks to following a balanced diet and taking care of his daily calorie intake, Jason eventually lost 30 pounds. But his journey doesn’t stop here as he wants to lose more pounds. He continues with his regular workout routine to stay fit.

Monica Seles  – 37 POUNDS

A living proof that an active life is not enough for a slim figure, Monica Seles was a tennis pro and one of the best players in the world until a mentally disturbed man stabbed her in 1993. Her mental health, already shaking due to the pressures of stardom, cracked and she developed an eating disorder, which led her to gain weight. Depression and her father’s death due to cancer turned food into her drug of preference and it was only after she found an inner peace that she managed to lose weight with a regulated diet and proper exercise.

Garth Brooks – UNKNOWN

American musician Garth Brooks has become famous and highly successful after releasing seven albums that all received diamond status in the US. Fans are always thrilled to watch his live performances. However, the singer wasn’t satisfied with his looks. He wanted to get back in shape and lose his extra pounds as his doctor has suggested to him as well. He went on a healthy and balanced diet accompanied by regular workouts. His weight loss journey was difficult, but his hard work has paid off. Garth is finally satisfied with his weight as he records new songs.

DREW CAREY – 80 POUNDS

A ‘funny weight’! This is what Carey has always considered his weight to be. The famous comedian has created many jokes related to his figure, and it seems he was pretty content about it until one day when he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. It was the time when Carey had to make his ‘funny’ weight disappear and get back in shape. Before joining Planet Fitness, Rikishi was a 425-pound former pro-wrestler who had been shown the door by WWE on account of his untethered weight gain. Surprisingly, since leaving WWE, Rikishi has made significant weight loss progress, so much so that when he was conferred the honorary WWE hall of fame award, the difference could clearly be seen. OSCAR ISAAC – Undisclosed Amount

Oscar Isaac is on the lips of everyone today. He has slowly built his career and is almost at his peak. Currently, he is on many shows on Netflix, namely 2014’s Ex Machina, 2018’s Annihilation and Operation Finale and 2019’s Triple Frontier. He may even possibly take over Ben Affleck’s role as Batman. For Oscar Isaac’s portrayal of brilliant genius Nathan Bateman in Ex Machina he really had to lose any sort of body fat and get physically strong. For the role, he had a personal trainer where he did some cardio, lots of weight training and boxing. He also ate really clean and a little more than usual because of all the exercise he was doing. The results were fantastic and today Oscar Isaac seems to have kept up his training and healthy eating habits as he really looks fit and in super shape!

Hilary Duff – UNKNOWN

These days, the American actress and singer is looking fitter and lovelier than ever. Hilary Duff is just glowing as she shows off her new stunning figure. After she gave birth, the actress had greatly struggled with weight gain for quite some time. Fortunately, she was determined to get back into shape as she followed a strict diet plan. She has also gotten herself a gym membership and became a regular customer there. Thanks to light exercising and a balanced diet, Hilary is back on the right track.

Chris Moyles – 70 pounds

At one point, TV host Chris Moyles seemed like he was traveling on a one-way ticket to Obese City. Thankfully, he woke up to the imminent danger and switched to a healthier lifestyle after quitting BBC Radio 1. He gave up junk food eating and settled with a run-run workout regimen. When George Wendt began to pack on the pounds, it wasn’t hard to trace it to the conclusion of his series, Cheers where he had been front and center for 11 seasons. And between his food and alcohol addiction, Wendt was a ticking time bomb until he began making a few heart-friendly nutrition choices as well as doing some light exercise. Nowadays, he sure seems like a different man since after his weight loss of 50 pounds.

Patrick Stump – 60 pounds

Returning from a long hiatus, Patrick Stump stumped the world when he emerged back in the spotlight 60 pounds lighter. The Fall Out Boy frontman’s weight loss eating plan revolved around portion control and coupled with exercise, it’s a formula that’s hard to beat. His new look paved the way for another piece of news from the singer – his first solo effort at an album. It’s easy to see where all that confidence is coming from!

Sasha Pieterse – 37 pounds

Sasha Pieterse attributes her weight gain while on Pretty Little Liars to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, saying she gained 70 pounds in two years. While starring on Dancing with the Stars Pieterse dropped 37 pounds before being eliminated.

Kevin Federline – UNKNOWN

The former dancer Kevin Federline rose to fame after marrying beloved pop music princess, Britney Spears. Unfortunately, the couple soon needed a divorce attorney after barely three years of marriage. Following his divorce, Kevin began struggling with weight gain as he reached a staggering 200 lbs. However, he was determined to get back in shape and did so by starting to exercise and joining the popular VH1 Celebrity Fit Club. After losing those unwanted pounds, he’s back in the game.

Lauren Alaina – 25 pounds

Amazingly talented singer Lauren Alaina rose to prominence after appearing on the popular show, American Idol. We absolutely love her singing skills, so no one was surprised when Lauren released her debut album Wildflower after leaving the show. However, we were surprised to see her looking stunning as she dropped around 25 pounds, thanks to changing her diet. She attributes her slimmer frame to following a low-carb diet. Congratulations, Lauren! She went even further and shed 15 more pounds. We can’t wait to see her on the stage again.

Ricki-Lee – 30 pounds

It is almost impossible that Ricki-Lee was ever struggling with weight gain as now she looks svelte with no extra fat. The Australian singer and television personality was able to lose more than 30 pounds after following a strict diet. And even though many people think she is too skinny now, she said that she has never felt better and healthier. She is determined to maintain this weight as she is a regular gym customer. If she is happy with her weight, then we are, too.

Craig Robinson – 60+ pounds

One of the most popular comedians in the entertainment industry, Craig Robinson was struggling with those annoying additional pounds for several years. He wasn’t satisfied at all as he was feeling tired almost all the time. After nixing alcohol and deciding to follow a vegan diet plan, the comedian was able to shed more than 60 pounds! He recently said that going vegan was one of the best decisions he has ever made so far in his life. Perhaps quitting alcohol is his ‘second’ best decision. Vicky Pattinson was a reality TV star who had openly admitted her love for alcohol and for late night kebabs. Sadly, both the items are full of calories and Vicky swelled up to size 16 in no time. Scarlett Moffatt – 20 pounds

The English reality television personality, stunning Scarlett Moffatt became popular after appearing on the TV show, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2016. She also used to be a co-presenter of the show. During the series, she was diagnosed with diabetes, and so her doctor suggested that she lose some excess pounds. She took the advice very seriously and began her weight loss journey. With no plastic surgery and only armed with her persistence and regular workouts with her personal trainer, she was able to lose over 20 pounds.

EJ JOHNSON – 130 POUNDS

Being the son of the legendary Magic Johnson, EJ has gained quite the fame and popularity, though we must add that it’s been quite in a controversial manner. Publicly coming out as gay, his father has supported him with his decision, though he has gotten quite the backlash for his over-the-top outfits. And we can see that after the gastric sleeve surgery, he’s managed to lose an impressive 130 pounds in the process.

Kevin Smith – 85 pounds

Despite some of Smith’s biggest movie disasters such as Tusk, one of the things he has been battling is his weight! In fact, he got his reality check when he noticed that he could not fit into an airplane seat anymore. We don’t know if he ever consulted the services of a weight loss procedure specialist, but he boldly states that there was none involved. He says he did it naturally, cutting down his sugar consumption, as well as maintaining a healthy diet. He first dropped 65 pounds, then an additional 20 more in 2015.0

MARGO MARTINDALE – 20 POUNDS

Margo Martindale may not have been ripping the hems of her dresses, but after her Emmy nomination, the actress decided that she was long overdue to go on a diet to achieve a much-needed weight loss. The 66-year-old simply made nutrition-smart choices and included some walking in her exercise routine. Today, she is 20 pounds lighter and looking so much better.

ARIEL WINTER – 30 POUNDS

If you have kids in the house who have watched Sofia the First and Mr. Peabody and Sherman, you will definitely recognise the unique and beautiful voice of Ariel Winter. She is also on Modern Family  as Alex Dunphy. She is one of the most famed and loved voice actors as well as an extraordinary singer with a boatload of talent. Winter was a child star and we all know how child stars are under constant scrutiny and pressure. This led to Winter becoming depressed and experiencing other health issues as well. It was recently revealed that Ariel Winter was taking medication which led to a considerable weight gain but due to the health issues she could not stop taking them. After a few consultations, Ariel was finally allowed to wean herself off the medication and was given a new one, which helped her more. This medication led to a considerable weight loss for the elusive Ariel Winter.

JOHN BRADLEY-WEST – 30 POUNDS

Only a few overweight actors have been as fortunate as John Bradley-West has been, especially for those outside comic circles. However, the 29-year-old Game of Thrones star was a long way off from satisfied with his physical appearance and set off on a fitness and weight-loss journey by incorporating low-calorie diet and what seems to be lots of physical activity (even though he doesn’t seem to exercise). Thirty pounds down and Bradley-West is virtually unrecognizable and should soon be giving John Snow a run for his money.

James Corden – 85 pounds

It must be quite a feeling to have a show named after you. And we’re sure James Corden was scaling clouds with The Late Show with James Corden. But success is best enjoyed in good health. With Corden weighing 315 pounds, that was evidently not the case. He was quick to remove sugar and bread from his diet and started working out with help from a personal trainer. James did quite well to lose 85 pounds.

 Roseanne Barr – 140 POUNDS

In the ‘80s and ‘90s, Roseanne was one of the most controversial female TV show figures due to her harsh and critical views of the housewife lifestyle. In 1998, Roseanne decided that it was time to have a makeover, opting for a gastric bypass surgery that made her lose a whopping 350 pounds. Australian actress and singer Holly Valance was inspired to get back in shape after she saw a photo of herself with her fiancé, where she looked fatter than what she would have liked. A lot of us grew up watching Raven Symone grow up on the television. She was a Cosby child on The Cosby Show (64 episodes), she starred on Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper (79 episodes) as well as That’s So Raven (100 episodes). She has been in the public eye for a very long time so it must be hard when everyone has been judging her weight. When she was only 18 she weighed around 180 lbs which she blamed on stress. She now eats smaller portions and is looking absolutely fabulous.

Ashlee Simpson – 50 pounds

After giving birth to her child, Ashlee Simpson decided that while it had been fun, it was time to retire from eating fattening cupcakes and other desserts. With 50 pounds to lose, Ashlee plunged head-on into the project of losing weight by changing her eating habits and exercising at the gym for at least half an hour daily. Thanks to her hard work, Ashlee lost the extra pounds in no time, proving once again that husband Evan Ross is, indeed, a very lucky man!

Paul Bearer – 300lbs, Weight Loss Surgery

WWE fans will surely recognize Paul Bearer, the man known in the world of wrestling as William Moody, the on-screen manager for wrestlers like The Undertaker, Kane, and Mankind. After being a big fella for many years weighing 525 lbs at one point, Bearer decided to undergo a weight-loss surgery that helped him lose 300 lbs and become healthier. However, Bearer’s change in size proved insufficient for his health issues. He passed in away in 2013 after suffering a heart attack. The WWE honored him by inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame one year later.

Claire Richards – 80 pounds

Who can forget Claire Richards as the lead female voice in the ‘90s hit group, Steps? The gorgeous Claire seemed to lose interest in her looks after the band split up, developing an emotional connection to food in the process. Unfortunately for Claire, it looks like weight loss is a series battle for her, going on a rollercoaster of gaining and losing weight. We hope her most recent loss of 80 pounds will be maintained though!

John Goodman – 100 pounds

There isn’t a movie where John Goodman has participated in that he wasn’t known as the “fat, funny man”. However, despite the fact his weight might have helped his acting career; it was also interfering with his well-being. After seeing the weight loss process as the best way to get his health back, Goodman decided to go for a personal trainer and a well-balanced diet. He didn’t need any gastric bypass or sleeve surgery to make him look good. Eventually, he was able to lose around 100 pounds.

Kendra Wilkinson – 55 pounds

One of the most famous beauties, Kendra must have been pretty upset gaining all that baby weight after her first child – she packed on a whopping 60 pounds in 2014. But thanks to putting herself on a serious workout and eating healthy, she regained her slim frame soon. Nancy Sinatra is best known for being Frank Sinatra’s daughter and just like her successful father, she also pursued a singing career. Nancy hasn’t shared her exact weight-loss method but we’re guessing she did it naturally through eating healthy meals and exercising. PINK – 55 POUNDS

Just like many other women, Pink’s tight form grew a bit flabbier during her pregnancy, going up by 55 pounds. After giving birth, she let her body rest for a bit and then went into a “body reclamation project” mode. Cutting cheesecakes and pies out of her diet and putting workouts back in, along with the help and motivation of her personal trainer, she went back to her old fit self. The singer, who used to have a drug addiction, is all for a healthy living these days.

REZA FARAHAN – 40 POUNDS

Star of the reality TV show Shahs Of Sunset Reza Farahan wanted to get his body back in shape, like when he was younger. Though far from morbidly obese, age and a less-than-healthy lifestyle had resulted in quite a bit of weight gain. So in December 2016, he started a weight loss program, improving his diet and hiring a personal trainer to help him exercise better. Without any weight loss surgery, it took him eight months, but he managed to lose 40 pounds.

Anthony Anderson – 47 pounds

Anthony Anderson is a famous actor and comedian, who is known to audiences from All About the Andersons, Black-ish, Transformers, and many other successful projects. In 2001, Anthony Anderson’s weight contributed to his being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. He then made up his mind to start a weight loss transformation by working out every single day. He also used a well-balanced diet that along with the fitness regimen, made him lose a whopping 47 pounds.

SHARON ROONEY – 25 POUNDS

Given the circumstances, it is safe to say that Sharon Rooney is by no means apologetic for her body weight and insists that she has always looked the same. That notwithstanding, the actress proved that a little attention to nutrition can go a long way when she incorporated cardio into her exercise routine and cut back on takeout food. After just these changes to her lifestyle, the 29-year-old dropped an impressive 25 pounds. Not bad for someone who was initially skeptical about weight loss.

JANET JACKSON – 60 POUNDS

Singer Janet Jackson took some drastic measures when she decided she had to gain weight for a role she wanted. Fortunately, she didn’t allow the excess pounds to stay for long, being able to get rid of them soon after giving birth. She went from nearly 180 pounds to 120 with the help of her personal trainer and a famous, commercial diet.

Simon Cowell – 20 Pounds

Simon Cowell is a popular TV personality who is well known for the years he spent as a judge on shows like American Idol, The X Factor, and Britain’s Got Talent. In 2019, he emerged looking like a different person and this is because he successfully became 20 pounds lighter. His new Vegan diet plan is the reason he shed so much weight. He really had to change his eating habits after going through a serious medical scare back in 2017. Cowell continues to appear on TV today and he is the creator of a new TV talent competition called The Greatest Dancer.

Billy Joel – Weight Lost Undisclosed

Another star who had an impressive weight loss transformation is Billy Joel. Just like Nancy Sinatra, he emerged looking slimmer than usual but he hasn’t shared his secret with the media. He could easily afford weight loss surgery but we’re sure there is a big chance he stuck to doing things the old-fashioned way. He used to be quite overweight but when you see him in his concerts today, you will be impressed by how good he looks. Joel has been popular in the music scene since the ’70s and he still performs for fans to this day.

Naomi Campbell – Weight Lost Undisclosed

Naomi Campbell is one of the most popular names in the modeling industry and she is widely known for her signature runway walk. She has been in great shape throughout her entire career because of her healthy and active lifestyle. She is in even better shape today because she is a vegetarian. Naomi is not fond of going to the gym but she loves doing yoga, Pilates, and Zumba. We are unsure about the exact amount of pounds she has lost but we’re positive it was just the right amount for her to still be in top form. In 2019, Campbell became the newest ambassador for NARS.

Tami Roman – 40+ pounds

Tami Roman was alarmed when she gained plenty of pounds after quitting smoking. When the statuesque 5’9” star reached a whopping 185 pounds, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She started taking the diet supplement NV Clinical, which helped her drop 7 pounds in just a week. She then decided to take it a step further by incorporating exercise into her routine, starting with just daily 10-minute walks and eventually increasing it to 30. The Basketball Wives star has since dropped a total of 40 pounds, and she’s still at it.

Anna Gunn – 40 pounds

Best known for her role as Skylar White, wife of drug chemist Walter White in the show Breaking Bad, Anna Gunn has always had her share of vicious criticisms from fans. However, this skyrocketed in the final season of the show when her weight gain became very obvious, which she attributed to medications and not to a poor diet. She eventually lost all the extra pounds, giving the world back the Skylar White they knew and loved so much.

Charlie Weis – 70 Pounds

Charlie Weis is an American football coach who was known for his huge weight. With a great desire to shed some pounds, he contemplated this target as the most significant, laborious, vigorous and lengthy project he has ever had. He lost 70 pounds after undergoing gastric bypass surgery⁠—though he faced severe complications immediately after the procedure. He initially disclosed the goal of losing 100 pounds and the loss of body fat was visible on his face, but he never boasted on this matter. He revealed that he was doing this for his family, team, future, and quality of life. Finally, it was revealed that he had lost 70 pounds off his weight.

JOHN DALY – 67 POUNDS

Only a man as daring as John Daly would attempt something this drastic to lose weight – but the pro-golfer insists that his nutrition is so well adapted to his metabolism that it is worth the risk. Rather than incorporate exercise or a diet plan into his schedule, Daly simply swapped all his food for what he called the ‘whisky and popcorn’ diet. While it may have led to dramatic weight loss, experts insist that it is only a matter of time before the 51-year-old begins battling alcohol addiction.

Nick Carter – 49 pounds

Nick Carter wasn’t very different from most other boy-band folks, who settle for an ovoid waist after their heydays. At one point, Carter weighed 224 pounds. But he did manage to bounce back fabulously – he first quit alcohol and then lowered his calorie intake to only 1,400 a day. Then, he hired a personal trainer and spent hours at the gym. He reduced 49 lbs and came to a fit 175 pounds.

JACK BLACK – 40 POUNDS

Sure, Jack Black’s strongest feature isn’t his looks, but the comedian and actor aren’t completely opposed to the idea of looking dapper. Inspired by the weight loss of his former bandmate, Kyle Gass, Black adopted a low-calorie diet of raisins and incorporated routine exercise into his schedule to set him on the path to being physically fit. Only a few months into his fitness journey and the actor, musician and comedian are down by 40 pounds. You go, bro!z

Mark Wahlberg – 40 pounds

One of the most prominent actors in the Hollywood industry, Mark Wahlberg, has managed to stay highly relevant because of his superb acting skills. He went from an unknown actor to one the highest-paid actors, as recently reported. And to fit the profile of a literary professor with serious drug addiction issues in the movie The Gambler, he had to unload around 40 pounds. He did this by going on a strict diet and getting a personal trainer to help him reach his goal. After the movie was done with the filming,  he opted to return to his 150-pound frame.

RUSSELL CROWE – 52 POUNDS

Russell Crowe had to put on some weight for the needs of The Nice Guys, which is not unreasonable for an actor. But after filming wrapped up, he decided to slim down again. Russel has always been a man of action, so instead of going to a doctor for a gastric band, he called his personal trainer and began an extended workout plan. He lost 52 pounds and plans to keep going till he’s fit again – something for which a healthy diet plan might help as well.

 Sharon Osbourne – 28 POUNDS

Wife of the famous rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon had gastric bypass surgery in 1999, and she did not even attempt to hide it. However, feeling guilty about the situation, she felt like she was lying to herself by having the gastric band. Eight years later, she got off the band, and now maintains her weight the natural way by eating healthy and exercising!

Matthew McConaughey – 42 pounds

Matthew is one actor who’s known for his perseverance, and he always invests himself fully in whatever role he chooses. And one way he does this is by adhering to some weight loss and weight gain procedures, no matter how dangerous they are. For example, in the movie Dallas Buyers Club, Matthew lost 42 pounds, going on a reluctant weight loss diet that consisted of eating lot of greens and almost zero meat.

Paula Deen – 40+ pounds

It was her Type 2 diabetes in 2012 that forced Paula Dean to start a personalized weight loss program. She had to follow and stick to an extremely healthy diet and began to work out daily. Eventually, she managed to shed almost 40 pounds. In her new book on nutrition, named Paula Dean Cuts the Fat: 250 Recipes Lightened Up, she made her weight loss journey public by wanting to help others as well.

Dawn French – 98 pounds

After Dawn discovered that she had cancer and needed a laparoscopic hysterectomy, it was time for her to drop some pounds and save her life. Because she did not prefer plastic surgery as an option, she went for diets. Her entire diet can be credited to counting calories and including long walks. So you can imagine how she shocked many by losing 98 pounds.

SALLY STRUTHERS – 30 POUNDS

Sally Struthers may no longer be the 20-something-year-old that serenaded us with her stellar performance in Five Easy Pieces, but the actress doesn’t seem keen on giving her identity as a blonde bombshell. Now 70 years old, Struthers initially put over 100 pounds but came under fire from fans following the dramatic weight gain. Struthers may have addressed it and is recording tremendous levels of weight loss even though it is unclear if she is getting help from diet supplements or a weight loss doctor. Whatever it is, we sure like her weight loss plan.

BOY GEORGE – 88 POUNDS

Singer Boy George let himself go and slowly but steadily gained weight, reaching 264 pounds before realizing what was happening. He turned to a nutritionist to help him organize his diet and supplemented that with daily workouts with a personal trainer. That way, losing weight became almost easy and he shed 88 pounds in total. It would have been a shame if after battling drug and alcohol addiction, Boy George fell victim to food addiction.

STEPHENIE MEYER – 20 POUNDS

Suburban mom-turned-writer Stephenie Meyer had been on the heavy side for quite some time and the tours promoting her books, both the Twilight trilogy and The Host wreaked havoc on her diet. To combat this and to lead a healthier life, she took up one of the most simple but rewarding workouts – running. She lost several pounds through that alone, though, unless combined with a low-fat, low-sugar diet, results are going to be hard to come by.

Penn Jillette – 100+ pounds

Magician Penn Jillette saw himself in a difficult position when he had to lose all of the excess pounds on his body right after doctors told him of a 90% heart blockage. He decided to go and follow the potato diet and was able to lose 100 pounds. He then upgraded his diet to some more advanced ones that involved intake of more vegetables and a rigorous exercise program.

JENNI “JWOWW” FARLEY – 30 POUNDS

During her 2016 pregnancy, Jenni Farley aka JWoww gained a bit of weight, as mothers are wont to do. After giving birth, she showed total determination to lose the baby fat, slim down, and get back in shape as fast as possible. The reality star had to cut out a lot of unhealthy food from her diet like pizza and ice cream and exercise like crazy, but she says the results are worth it. She had managed an incredibly fast weight loss after her first pregnancy as well, so she’s used to it.

Ed Sheeran – 50 pounds

One of the most charismatic and lovable English singers around, Ed Sheeran is treating us to hit after hit these days! And lately, it seems that Sheeran has been focusing on his looks, more specifically his weight. He recently showed up in 2017 looking slim, with rumors going around that he had shed over 50 pounds in just one year. So, what’s Ed’s secret? He says that the exclusion of beer, a healthy diet, plus hitting the gym regularly is his magic formula.

MEGHAN MARKLE – 23 POUNDS

Meghan Markle is without a doubt a very special lady. Not only does she have a huge fan base in America due to her performance as an actress on the hit TV show Suits, but now she is part of the royal family in the UK. This year she gave birth to her first child with Prince Harry – Archie and already has her gorgeous figure back. She did this by sticking to exercise like yoga and Pilates and follows a vegan diet during the week. She is also a huge believer of juicing and will often have a high-nutrient veggie shake for dinner. She apparently lost 23 pounds before marrying Prince Harry!

ADRIENNE BAILON – 22 POUNDS

Singer Adrienne Bailon wanted to look her best for her wedding, which took place on November 11, 2016. She wasn’t fat, just a few pounds over her usual weight. So, along with her fiancé, Israel Houghton, she followed a program that her trainer designed for her, with working out at least once per day, five days a week.

Furthermore, they had to quit drinking completely and swear off dairy products while increasing the amount of plant-based foods. Naturally, they ended up losing weight – 22 pounds for Adrienne and 25 pounds for Israel.

RICKY GERVAIS – 40 POUNDS

Ricky always wanted to be a pop star despite his singing career failing miserably. This has led him to turn to the realms of comedy. Fortunately, he immediately became a household name in the United States. And after being invited to host his second Golden Globes in 2011, he decided that enough was enough of him being overweight.

He embarked on an intense weight loss regime, making him lose a whopping 40 pounds in the process. Have a look at the new Rick today. In 2020, Ricky was invited to host the Golden Globe Awards 5th time.

KIMORA LEE SIMMONS – 25 POUNDS

Even a model will put on weight during pregnancy, as Kimora Lee Simmons found out. Her weight loss was the result of the simplest but perhaps the hardest way to do it. She ate less, either by reducing portions, avoiding snacks or leaving out meals altogether.

It certainly isn’t the healthiest way of losing weight, but as it took her a couple of years to go down 25 pounds, we guess the reduction in meals was not that dramatic. Still, proper food and activity remain the best weight loss method.

Jennifer Ellison – 28 pounds

Jennifer Ellison was going through a difficult phase in her life with a few extra pounds, and it seemed her weight control schemes were not working as she expected. It was 2014 when she and her husband decided to start a weight loss journey together.

She recorded the process through pictures in her underwear. She and her husband followed the Cambridge Diet, taking in just 800 calories a day. Today, they look amazing and Jennifer alone has shed some 28lbs. Jennifer is mostly known from TV reality shows like Dance Mums, and she also starred in The Phantom of the Opera, in 2004.

Michael Moore – 70 pounds

Everyone dreams of perfect body shape and a healthy physique.  It was this popular dream that made Michael Moore, the well-known documentary filmmaker, take some drastic measures by entering a weight loss spa with a weekly bill of $4,500.

That is rather a lot but the result is for all to see and admire! Michael is an Oscar-winning movie maker. He won the prestigious award for his Bowling for Columbine documentary movie, in 2002. Michael is also behind such films as SickoFahrenheit 9/11Where to Invade Next, and other acclaimed documentaries.

DEBORAH VOIGT – 150 POUNDS

Although opera singers are allowed a little more body mass, soprano Deborah Voigt had surpassed the 300-pound mark and her health was in serious danger. On top of that, according to reports, she was fired from a job for not fitting in the costumes and that was the tipping point for her.

Attempting to lose weight and failing multiple times, she sought proper medical assistance. She underwent surgery and lost more than 100 pounds but unfortunately, replaced overeating with drinking. Finally, she was able to switch to a healthier lifestyle and reach her goals.

Forest Whitaker – 80 pounds

Forest Whitaker, with his impressive acting career, has been critically acclaimed for his role in The Last King of Scotland movie. Winning all types of awards for his performance, including an Oscar, didn’t make him thinner, and that was a problem to him.

Forest soon realized it was time to get back in control and he did that by staying away from meat, ice-cream, and almost everything that smelled extra calories. Eventually, the 55-year old dropped more than 80 pounds. Although some fans were unhappy because Forest’s weight and frame was somewhat his trademark, it is definitely for the best.

ASHLEY JOHNSTON- 183 POUNDS

Usually, people who lose 183 pounds do it through surgery for it is a pretty high figure. Losing all that fat with the usual methods and a positive mindset is very difficult, which is why Ashley Johnston’s achievement is so great.

She didn’t win Season 9 of The Biggest Loser (though she did wed the winner of the At-Home prize Koli Palu could count as winning), but the show put her on the right track. Focused on health rather than weight, her dramatic weight loss has made her a whole different person.

Rachel Frederickson – 155 pounds

When Rachel joined the show, The Biggest Loser, she had to fight hard to lose the pounds against her equally determined competitors. So how did she fare on? She walked away as the winner of the show, losing an impressive 155 pounds.

And, even though the show is known for encouraging weight loss without any surgery procedures, doctors aren’t so confident with the fast process in which contestants lose weight. In fact, they say that it can lead to some serious issues. But, Rachel certainly isn’t the case and her impressive figure is evident in the photo above.

Kate Hudson – 70 pounds

The only time Kate Hudson had suffered from excessive weight gain was during her pregnancies. She was believed to have gained over 70 lbs during her first pregnancy. It was the time when she decided to hire a personal trainer and went on a strict, balanced diet to lose all that she had gained. She is now enjoying an amazing body and is in the best shape of her life. She even brags about it on Social Media, too.

JAY PHAROAH – 40 POUNDS

Stand-up comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Jay Pharoah made a choice to turn into a fitter version of himself. Being cast as the main character in White Famous may also have influenced his decision. Still, his 40-pound weight loss and a ripped physique are (according to him) the result of hard work only. Getting those results without any diet supplements or counting calories would mean hours and hours of exercise with a personal trainer on a daily basis.

 Jason Sudeikis – 20 pounds

Actor and comedian, Jason Sudeikis famously lost 20 lbs in 2014 and all of us jumped up in joy. He said that the loss in weight was from his enhanced workout regimen. Although his weight was never a big problem, he did come out looking like a million bucks.

Interestingly, he once had revealed that he lost a lot of weight owing to stunning sessions in bed with his wife, Olivia Wilde. Sounds much better than surgery or dieting, no doubt. Sudeikis recently reprised his voice role in Angry Birds Movie 2, in 2019.

Ethan Suplee – 200 pounds

One of Smith’s closest co-workers, Ethan too has battled obesity over the years. In fact, since both were overweight, they made a bet to see who would lose more weight. Ethan took the challenge more seriously, losing 200 lbs in the process. And even though we suspect he had gastric sleeve surgery, he confidently claims that all it took was a healthy meal plan and vigorous exercise on a regular basis.

Rex Ryan – Over 100 Pounds

Rex Ryan is a notable coach in the NFL, who is well recognized for the years he coached teams like the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and New York Jets. He was once a very big guy and he didn’t really care if a certain meal was too fattening. He eventually realized that he couldn’t stay that way so he decided to undergo lap band surgery.

The procedure was effective and he reportedly lost over 100 pounds. Let’s hope he now focuses on maintaining healthy eating habits so he doesn’t regain weight. Ryan doesn’t coach anymore and he now works as an analyst for ESPN.
